With over 25 years of legal experience, Dan Farlow brings a deep understanding of
Maryland’s legal system and an unwavering commitment to justice. He is a seasoned
courtroom litigator with hundreds of appearances in District, Circuit, and Appellate
Courts, and is well-versed in the rules of evidence and courtroom procedure.
Dan has built a distinguished career in family law, resolving sensitive and multifaceted
matters involving custody, business valuations, disputed incomes, alimony, contempt,
child support, guardianships, and juvenile cases. He has consistently demonstrated a
steady hand in cases involving families in crisis—those impacted by treated and untreated
addiction, mental health issues, and state intervention—and has deep knowledge of the
systems that intersect in such cases, including law enforcement, DSS, DJS, schools, and
the courts. He is experienced in working with self-represented litigants, multilingual
parties, and interpreters, ensuring accessibility and fairness for all. His expertise in child
support calculations—across varied custodial arrangements and complex financial
scenarios—is especially notable, as is his understanding of Title IV-D of the Social Security
Act.
Dan is also a respected educator in the legal community, having co-presented on the
topic of child estrangement and alienation at the Judicial College of Maryland in July
2024.
